Description

They say “movement is medicine”—and Dr. Marcia-Elizabeth Thompson’s workshop proves just that.

Every time a client moves, their body tells a story. Whether they strive for perfection in every exercise or push through discomfort with sheer will, their patterns may reflect deeper emotional experiences or past trauma.

In Treating Trauma with The Pilates Method, Dr. Thompson—who refers to Pilates instructors as “natural medicine practitioners”—invites us to look beyond the surface. This workshop explores how to create safety, build trust, and offer true care for clients recovering from a wide range of physical and emotional challenges.

You’ll learn movement strategies for supporting clients dealing with:

  • Eating disorders
  • Digestive issues
  • Developmental trauma
  • Injuries—whether physical or rooted in emotional experience

No matter what your client has been through, their healing journey can begin with movement—and you can help guide the way.
