Description
In this online Pilates workshop Jennifer Gianni invites you to join her as she uses Pilates to help a client through the process of double hip replacement surgery and to prepare them for a total knee replacement.
Watching Jennifer work one on one with one of her clients gives you specific cueing in language, touch, and positioning, that is tried and true for this population. We have a ton to draw from in the pilates studio and material that we can use in a creative and effective way with our hip and knee replacement clients.
Learn the do's and dont's for pre and post movement protocol for both hip and knee replacements. See safe, effective and hands-on material that you can use right away with your clients on the mat, seated, standing, and on the reformer.
There is an enormous amount of material that you will be able to teach your client for easy and effective homework sequences.

The Leg Spring Footwork (straps and springs combo) is an insightful variation which helps unload the knee and hip joints.
Manuel L
It's knowledgeable.
Terry P
Loved the deep psoas lengthening exercise. Thanks for letting us know about the regular psoas stretch placing too much pressure on the anterior hip socket.
Karen G

I thought that it was good, but it felt a little too geared to this particular client. I would have liked to see some overview on post knee exercises

I have a client returning soon following anterior hip replacement. Both hips were done 3 months apart. I'm also preparing another client for an upcoming anterior hip replacement. I'll review this workshop again as I begin working with them.

Lots to review but in the meanwhile thank you so much. An excellent Workshop with a wealth of information along with your clever cueing which makes sense of the movement and the exercises easy to follow. Of great help to my own hip issues and for a majority of my clients of a certain age in either recovering from hip surgery or trying to help prevent it from becoming a necessity!
