Description
Spiral Spine Pilates founder Erin Myers offers her unique approach on how to safely and effectively work with clients who have undergone scoliosis spinal fusion surgery.
In this online Pilates workshop, Erin reviews the specific set of challenges spinal fusions can present and how to work with them, dispelling any misconceptions that those with spinal fusions can’t practice Pilates. You will learn the spinal fusion movement rules to ensure you can confidently keep your fusion clients safe while working them out. Analysis of the spinal curvatures and rotations still present after fusion surgery is also taught.
Hear Erin’s real-life spinal fusion clients who detail their individual journeys both before and after their surgeries, and how they are now able to successfully practice Pilates. In addition to a series of exercises designed for scoliosis spinal fusion clients, the workshop also addresses some of the emotional affects scoliosis can present, giving you the tools to inspire, educate, and empower your clients to live their lives to the fullest.

I'm glad you enjoyed the spinal fusion workshop. In the other choreography workshop I bring a fused and non-fused client through the same 1.5 hr workout using the reformer, tower, and chair, modifying each exercise based on their surgery/different scoli. I also analyze both of their bodies in the beginning of the workshop and you get to hear a little about their stories. If you have a fused client if gives you many, many more exercises to do with them. Enjoy!
" Clear breakdown, training the eye with video examples and touched by the human stories/ how we can help our clients overall. Very useful and gave me confidence with my client. "

" I enjoyed this course very much! I am an scoli fusion person.... received a Herrington rod at age 14 in 1976. Your teaching is dynamic and relatable. I think that you are the first person that I have met that truly understands 'what it feels like' and understands the mobility issues we face. I will be seeking out further learning through you!Thank you! "

" This workshop is amazing - I feel much more confident working with clients with a spinal fusion - Erin's explanations and exercises helped to clarify what I was already intuitively thinking, but really felt out of my league in terms of how to progress a client. THANK YOU :) "
