As a Los Angeles native, June grew up studying the sciences and loving the movement arts with formal ballet training in the Royal Academy of Dance method. A dance related ankle injury in 1995, led her to Pilates at the Long Beach Dance Conditioning center as part of her rehabilitation. The LBDC program focused on learning to move and work smarter not harder with one’s body.
It was a transformative process leading to healthier muscle and movement patterns. She gained new appreciation for the mind body connection. Thus, Pilates became her passion!
She was certified by LBDC and Marie Jose Blom in the year 2000 and started teaching in Culver City/West Los Angeles. She also integrated GYROTONIC® and Yamuna Body Rolling into her practice. She studied classical Pilates with Jillian Hessel in 2016-2017. She opened her studio, Pilates On Robertson in 2017.
During this time, June continued to practice optometry part-time with an emphasis on neuro-rehabilitation and working with brain injury patients.
She hopes to inspire others to be healthy, overcome injuries and pain, discover the joy of movement, and enjoy life. Forever evolving, her learning continues so she can offer her clients new motivating experiences.
