Hi there! I just finished up my balanced body test out (yay!) and am now attempting to secure a few studios to teach mat classes in. I'm wondering if any pilates veterans could please advise me on personal liability insurance? Most studios are asking I show proof of insurance, but it's hard to fork up a few hundred dollars without really knowing I'm making the best choice... any suggestions would be much appreciated! Hi Bela, Most of our instructors use Philadelphia Insurance through Idea - they have good prices and are reliable. You get a bit of a discount if you're an Idea member. You can see some information at: http://www.ideafit.com/fitness-insurance/pilates-insurance The PMA has a partnership with Lockton too - and a discount through them if you're a member. Thanks for your response and the information, Angelo! Philadelphia Insurance seems to be the way to go, so I'll probably end up going with that! |

Hi there- You may want to also consider Insurance Plus. They've been providing liability insurance for 28 years and have reasonable rates. It's $159 for a year / $77 for students, but you can get $10 off by mentioning you were referred by WAGs (Wrist Assured Gloves). If you want to investigate further their number is 800-222-1110. Phila. Insurance now makes it easy for those of us who teach at several studios. You can go online and create certificates of insurance that name additional insureds for each studio. |
